Have you ever walked into a room where everyone seemed to know everyone else? People are laughing and sharing stories, and you are standing there wondering where you belong. It is not always easy to be the new person.
Make room for one more
Maybe it is the new family at church, a neighbor who recently moved in, a parent standing alone at a school event or someone who does not have family nearby. A simple introduction, remembering a name or offering a seat can change someone’s day.
Hospitality does not have to be fancy
Inviting someone over does not require an elaborate dinner. Soup and bread, sandwiches or a little visit on the porch can be enough. People rarely need us to impress them; they need us to make them feel welcome.
A small challenge for this week
Think of someone who might appreciate being included. Reach out and invite them to something simple. Even if they cannot come, let them know you are thinking of them. Good People. Brighter Days. Stronger Together.
From our family to yours: Has someone ever made you feel welcome when you were new somewhere?
